Opportunities for the Youth:
Totus Tuus: This is a week long program in the summer for those entering 1st grade through 12th grade. Our parish hosts 4 college students who put on 2 programs throughout the day that engage the youth in fun activities, skits, prayer, Mass, and classes about the Rosary and different aspects of the faith. The focus of the week is to teach the kids to completely give themselves to Christ through the hands of our Blessed Mother, Mary. Summer 2019 dates are July 21st-26th.
Summer Mission Trip/Conference: Our summer 2019 high school youth trip is a mission trip/youth conference called Alive in You. We will be heading to St. Louis, MO July 9-14 to do mission work in the community and participate in the Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and engage in other events that will provide ways for spiritual growth. Please pray for the 15 teens we have signed up and don't miss out on our summer 2020 trip!
Emmaus Days: This is a retreat for high school and college aged guys who are interested in discerning God's plan for their life and striving for sainthood. There are four sessions throughout the summer depending on your age and they are held at different locations in our diocese. The retreat is hosted by seminarians who are devoted to helping the men learn how to pray and follow God's will. Click here for 2019 dates and additional information.
TEC: TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) is a weekend retreat for those who are 16-21 years old. Throughout the year, there are 3 for girls, and 2 for boys. These are located at the TEC Center in Peterstown. This is a great opportunity to meet other people from nearby parishes, hear talks from people who have experienced Jesus' love in a powerful way, and learn more about prayer, the sacraments, and Mass.
Diocesan Youth Rally: Every spring, the diocese hosts a day long conference for high school students. Youth from all around the diocese gather in Peoria for a day of talks by renowned Catholic speakers, praise and worship, Eucharistic Adoration, and Mass at the Cathedral.
Abide in Me: This is a weekend Eucharistic retreat in November. High school youth from the diocese come together and grow in knowledge and love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, as well as increase their devotion to Mary, learn about Church teachings, and discern how the Holy Spirit is working in their lives. This is a powerful weekend of 40 hours of Eucharistic Adoration and opportunities to experience Jesus' mercy through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
