The 'Changing of the Guard' Dynamic ~ After fourteen years of a parish having one shepherd/priest, there is a dynamic about which you should be aware: just because I did my various ministries in a particular way, that does not mean there are not numerous other ways they can be done by your in-coming new shepherd/priest. In other words, don't jump to conclusions when your new priest, Fr Gifford, changes or wishes to change some things---whether it be with Holy Mass, or his availability to you, or different programs, his choice of leaders in the parish, etc, etc. [For what it’s worth, I will face the exact same 'changing of the guard' dynamic at my new assignment as well!] So, please be patient with your new leader as I hope my new flock will be with me!
